Sitting, Waiting, Wishing... or not

This last week was a bit crazy, but most weeks are for me so I guess it wasn't anything new. My brother John just got a job with my boss, so we get to work together rather often now, which I hope is going to be very fun. For those of you who don't know, I'm a sports producer on the BYU Sports Network, I spend most of my time in that job planning and organizing live sport broadcasts. It's a lot of fun, but also a lot of work and considerably more pressure than your average college job, but I've been working at the same place for the last 2 years now, so I must like it. This week we had a Women's Soccer game on Friday. Everything with planning went pretty well, but I'm starting to see some areas where I need to plan better.

I also got the opperunity to give a talk in church. The topic was Good, Better, Best, based on Elder Oaks talk in Octber of 2007. I loved writing the talk, and loved giving it even more. Maybe I'm attention starved or somthing, but I really do enjoy giving speeches, and church seems to be the only outlet for me to do that right about now.

Mom, Kirk, and Joey also came to visit this weekend. It was really great to see them again, I don't think I've seen them since June or something like that. Mom and Kirk looked great they're on this new diet which seems to be working wonders for them, I almost didn't recognize them. Joey is fun as usual, I can't believe that he's a senior in High School already.

Other than that I don't think there's anything too exciting. I'm still dating and what-not in Provo, but more and more I keep thinking that I like a guy, and then going on a date with him and finding that he's really not who I thought he was. I guess that's a theme with me. Maybe I should just try harder not to judge people before I get to know them.

I think you have to make some kind of quick initial judgement about people, especially guys, before you invest time (a precious resource) into getting to know them. The good news is that you judge them too kindly-- I think that speaks to your optimism. Just remember Auntie Michi says "you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find a prince"!

Ger, Macy, and I are coming to Idaho! Mom said she would buy Macy and I a ticket to come spend time with our grandparents-- and we decided to get Ger there for a few days as well. So Macy and I will be at Moms Oct 11-18. Mom is picking us up and dropping us off in Boise on the Saturdays. We would love to see you if you could make the trip home, but we know that you are a busy lady! We love you! Keep Blogging!

I'm going to agree with Mary and say that you judge to kindly before you even know them. I mean a man has to work to get your attention right, you shouldn't just give him the benefit of the doubt because he's clever enough to hang with you for a few tangential thoughts. Start judging harshly, well at least untill December.
